Planmeca is excited to introduce a new high-precision 3D printer for manufacturing dental restorations, surgical guides, dental models, and various custom-made appliances, such as bite splints, night guards, and impression trays, quickly and accurately. With its exceptional reliability, the new Planmeca Creo® X 3D printer ensures dental professionals can achieve perfect results every time, whether in a dental practice or laboratory.
Press release Nov 24, 2025
Ten years ago, Planmeca’s journey in dental 3D printing began with a bold vision: to transform dental manufacturing workflows with ground-breaking precision and reliability. Today, that vision comes to life with the launch of Planmeca Creo® X dental 3D printer – a product built on a decade of innovation, precision, and reliability.
From the first concept sketched a decade ago to the final product, Planmeca Creo X represents more than just advanced technology. It is the result of years of hands-on engineering, close collaboration with dental professionals, and a deep commitment to quality. Thanks to continuous user feedback, Planmeca’s in-house development team has fine-tuned the printer’s usability to ensure every print is not only accurate but consistently reliable.
The new 3D printer combines the proven mechanical design of its predecessor, Planmeca Creo® C5, with thoroughly redesigned technology and new core components. Each component has been carefully chosen to ensure outstanding operational performance while offering excellent cost-efficiency. The result is a durable and reliable printer capable of meeting the demands of even the busiest dental practices and laboratories, producing highly accurate prints with every use.
At the heart of the new Planmeca Creo X printer is a next-generation light source that utilises chip-on-board (COB) LED technology. This light source is paired with a new monochrome LCD panel, resulting in a pixel size resolution of just 34 microns – further reducing the already impressive resolution of its predecessor. Additionally, Planmeca Creo X also features an integrated heater for resin temperature control, ensuring optimised printing results for every material in all clinical environments.
Since the very first prototype, every improvement has been made with one goal in mind: enabling professionals to focus more on patient care while trusting the tools in their hands. The X in the name of Planmeca’s latest 3D printer is not just a nod to precision and ten years of 3D printing experience; it is a symbol of arriving exactly where you need to be. Whether producing dental models, splints, surgical guides or dental restorations, Planmeca Creo X empowers dental professionals to exceed expectations while streamlining workflows in clinics and labs alike.
“With Planmeca Creo X, even beginners can start 3D printing with confidence, knowing their printer will meet their expectations and deliver reliable results every time. Reliability was the key factor in the product development, which is why we have ensured the printer is capable of meeting the evolving requirements of various printing materials, both now and in the future. The combination of advanced mechanical components and new optics ensures perfect results every time, guaranteeing reliability even in the busiest environments,” states Pontus Degerlund, CAD/CAM Director at Planmeca.
