Walter Renne

Keynote speech:
Dr Walter Renne, DMD
The power of one

Digital dentistry is changing the daily work in dental practices all over the world. In his expert lecture, Dr Renne guides you through the complete digital workflow from intraoral scanning to chairside milling of conservative adhesive ceramics and fabricating surgical guides inhouse using one single software – Planmeca Romexis®. With case examples, you will learn how to benefit from digital smile design and to match a single-unit anterior using customisation and mirror imaging. In his speech, Dr Renne also shares his experiences on using presurgical 3D-printed provisional restorations for implant hybrids and on partnering with laboratories to mill screw-retained restorations on custom abutments.

Walter Renne is a full Professor and Assistant Dean of Innovation and Digital Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is the course director for preclinical CAD/CAM course and director of the Digital Dentistry Residency. Dr Renne has won several national and regional teaching awards for his efforts both preclinically and clinically. He is proficient with multiple intraoral scanners, including Planmeca Emerald™ and Planmeca Emerald™ S, and has published over 30 dental research publications, including several studies on scan and milling accuracy using various systems. Dr Renne also has several patents including a patent for a platform of long-term antimicrobial dental materials that have revolutionary bond durability components by inhibiting enzyme degradation of the hybrid layer while simultaneously preventing bacterial proliferation.

Föreläsning:
Dr Walter Renne, DMD
The power of one

He is the course director for the preclinical CAD/CAM course and director of the Digital Dentistry Residency.
