3D module

New Impression Capture button

  • New capture button for scanning impressions
    - When using the Impression Capture button in Planmeca Romexis®, the image is automatically inverted in Reconstruction PC and a surface model (STL file) is generated.
    - The Impression Capture button can only be used for impressions (negative). Not intended for plaster casts.
    - To gain the best accuracy in impression scanning, the system can be calibrated to the impression material being used. Only monophase materials can be used.
    • There are 3 materials already calibrated in the system:
      Coltene Whaledent Affinis MonoBody,
      Heraeus Flexitime Monophase and
      Danville First Quarter Monophase.
    • For calibration, special calibration tools are delivered with Planmeca ProMax®.
  • In Planmeca Romexis, captured and imported surface models (STL files) are listed in the patient’s Volumes list and processed in ProFace & Surface module.
  • Impressions can be mapped with patient CBCT data or exported either as STL or Planmeca ProFace™ files from Planmeca Romexis.

New generic crown library available

  • New generic crown library in Planmeca Romexis® Implant Planning module
    - Fixed size implant crowns can be added to implant plan
    - Rotation angle setting added to implant properties to allow rotation of crowns

Planmeca Romexis® Cephalometric Analysis module

In the Planmeca Romexis® Cephalometric Analysis module, cephalometric analyses and superimpositions can be composed of 2D cephalometric images, facial photos and views of the dental arch. The analyses are used e.g. in orthodontic growth analysis, diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring as well as in treatment outcome evaluation.

Fast analyses

  • The Planmeca Romexis Cephalometric Analysis module provides advanced tools that significantly reduce the time required to carry out a cephalometric analysis. 
  • The predefined analysis templates, group movement of reference points and automatic calibration render performing an analysis fast and easy.
  • The new module is suitable for lateral, frontal and arch analyses.
    The most common 20+ lateral analysis types are included in the software (Ricketts, Bern, McNamara, Downs etc).
  • The cephalometric analysis can be started with just one click in the Planmeca Romexis® 2D Imaging module. 

Flexible superimpositions

  • Superimpositions can be created from any number of analyses and photos by freely selecting reference points and the method of superimposition: Point-Point, Point-Plane, or Point-Rotation. 
  • Comparing analyses from different points of time is easy while adjusting image transparency and element colour and visibility. 
  • Superimpositions can be exported with or without a face photo.

Versatile reports

  • Versatile reporting possibilities
  • Analysis types include default printouts for a quick viewing of the results. In addition, custom report templates can be created to meet specific needs. 
  • The work can be shared with colleagues by emailing the reports in PDF format. Reports can also be exported into a spreadsheet application for further editing. 
  • Exports of different analysis layers in enhanced vector format help to make presentations more informative.
  • The analyses are saved in the Planmeca Romexis® 2D Imaging module and can be edited in the Planmeca Romexis Cephalometric Analysis module

Fully customisable analyses

  • Allows designing your own analysis types without restrictions. 
  • A new analysis type can be created by modifying a stored analysis type, by using the extensive set of predefined elements, or by creating totally new analysis elements.
  • Users have the possibility to define their own norms. The norms can be established by importing them from a spread sheet or by typing them into the software.
