CAD/CAM module

The Planmeca Romexis® software now offers a new CAD/CAM module for a seamless CAD/CAM workflow.

Features

  • Launch Planmeca PlanCAD® Easy for intraoral scanning, designing restorations and milling
  • Scans and restorations are grouped into cases and are immediately available for further work on all Planmeca Romexis workstations
  • Scans and restorations are easily paired with the patient’s CBCT data in Planmeca Romexis 3D module for 3D implant simulation
  • Import and export 3D models in open STL format to/from third-party systems
  • Export and refer scans and restorations using Planmeca Romexis® Cloud service or access them on Planmeca iRomexis™ mobile application

Planmeca PlanCAD® Easy is the perfect tool for scanning, designing and milling – all in one place. It is seamlessly integrated into Planmeca Romexis® software.

  • Easy design of inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns and bridges
  • Fully automated design from an anatomic tooth library
    - Automatic adaptation to contact strength specified by user
    - Cusps, marginal ridge and other anatomical shapes are taken to the design from the adjacent teeth

Different PlanCAD® Easy licences are available for different needs. Choose your ideal option:

  • Scan only
    Enables scanning and marking of margin line. For users who have Planmeca PlanScan®.
  • Design only
    This licence allows you to design prosthetic works by using an existing scan. You can also send your case to Planmeca PlanMill® 40 milling unit for manufacturing. Available for Planmeca Romexis 3.5.
  • Scan+design
    Enables the whole process from scanning to manufacturing. For users who have the Planmeca CAD/CAM™ Chairside solution. 

A floating license allows working on multiple workstations.

Unique features of Planmeca PlanCAD® Easy

  • Automatic crown design from anatomical tooth library.
  • Choose from different anatomical shapes.
  • Result after apply: cusps, marginal ridge and other anatomical shapes are taken to the design from the adjacent teeth and antagonist.

Sharing and utilising data in Planmeca Romexis®

Combine prosthetic work with CBCT data
All the scanned and design data for prosthetic works is immediately available in Planmeca Romexis®. The data can be mapped with the patient’s CBCT data and utilised in implant planning, for example.

Share cases easily through Planmeca Romexis® Cloud service
The scans and restorations are STL files that can be easily shared with colleagues or partner labs through Planmeca Romexis® Cloud service. The Planmeca Romexis Cloud service is a secure image transfer service integrated into Planmeca Romexis software. 

Planmeca Romexis® 3D Ortho Studio

Software update

Planmeca Romexis® 3D Ortho Studio will be available in two different versions – Basic and Advanced – starting from Planmeca Romexis® 3.4.R release.

The Basic version is ideal for storing, smoothing, measuring and visualising digital dental models. The Advanced version enables, in addition to all the basic functionalities, tooth segmentation, virtual treatment planning and creation of a series of digital models between the original setup and treatment goal.

In addition, the free Planmeca Romexis® 3D Ortho Studio Viewer application can be used for analysing and measuring dental models exported from the Basic or Advanced versions of the software and for visualising the planned treatment outcome.
