CAD/CAM Basics of Single Unit Restorations for FIT System

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 2-day introductory hands-on course is ideal for dentists and team members. You will learn to scan, design, mill, and finish a variety of restorations through the use of a fully integrated CAD/CAM system.

OBJECTIVES

  • Apply techniques for digitizing clinical workflows
  • Make material choices based on their indications
  • Digitally design functional and esthetic restorations
  • Produce quality restorations in a single visit

April has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 1999. She has over 25 years of CAD/CAM knowledge and experience. In July of 2011, April joined Planmeca as a Clinical Specialist and has successfully trained thousands of clinicians. Digital Dentistry is her passion. She enjoys seeing clinicians at the very start of their journey into chairside milling and seeing their progress throughout their careers.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 2-day introductory hands-on course is ideal for dentists and team members. You will learn to design, mill or send to 3D printer, and finish a variety of restorations through the use of a CAD/CAM system. During this course, you will gain the experience to produce lab applications. This includes:

  • Single unit restoration
  • 3-unit restoration
  • Bite splint
  • Shell provisional
  • Screw retained crown
  • Cosmetic acceptance cases

This introductory course is ideal of dentists and team members. You will learn the basics of intraoral scanning. During this course you will practice the skills necessary to efficiently produce digital impressions to be used with a CAD/CAM system or for digital submission to a dental lab.

CBCT Basics, Interpretation and Implant Workflow

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 2-day hands-on course is designed for dentists and team members who wish to enhance their CBCT diagnostic and implant planning skills. It provides a strong foundation in CBCT principles, interpretation, and takes a deep dive into the complete digital implant workflow from a restoratively driven perspective. Attendees will work on multiple implant cases from a simple single-site implant to more complex scenarios.

OBJECTIVES

  • Review the principles of CBCT technology, radiation, dose, and how to systematically review a CBCT scan and interpret findings
  • Identify anatomic landmarks in CBCT images
  • Review how a CBCT can be utilized for different clinical applications with hands-on examples
  • Recognize the fundamentals of restorative driven implant planning
  • Apply hands-on experience with CAD/CAM workflows and create digital wax-ups
  • Demonstrate surgical guides for implant treatment
  • Define best practices with anterior and multi-unit implant cases

CBCT Basics, Interpretation and Treatment Planning for Orthodontists

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Orthodontists will spend 2-days learning how to take their practice to the next level using CBCT technology. The first half of this course will focus on the foundations of radiology and reading large volume CBCT scans. The second half of the course provides an in-depth understanding of how to use CBCT technology to improve your diagnosis and treatment planning skills. Attendees will enjoy hands-on learning with actual cases and discuss leveraging the latest technology for the best outcomes.

OBJECTIVES

  • Review the basic principles of CBCT radiation dose and risks for the orthodontic patient
  • Identify anatomic landmarks in CBCT
  • How to systematically review a CBCT scan and interpret findings
  • Discuss the basic principles of anatomically based orthodontics using CBCT volumes
  • Learn orthodontic treatment planning and workflow
  • Gain an understanding of diagnostic image sets using 3D
  • Evaluate several cases and identify best practices for ideal outcomes

PREREQUISITES

Advanced Courses

Planmeca has partnered with Modern Optimized Dentistry, or the “MOD Institute” to offer advanced CAD/CAM and CBCT imaging courses to our customers. This extension of our education department allows clinicians to master new skills and achieve a higher level of dentistry after they have completed our courses. While some of these courses are taught at the Planmeca headquarters, the majority are held at the MOD Institute classrooms located in Charleston, SC. This facility is equipped with the latest Planmeca technology to enhance our customer’s journey.

Planmeca Digital Academy is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry.
