Planmeca Waterline Cleaning System

Scientifically proven effectiveness

  • The highly automated Planmeca Waterline Cleaning System ensures optimal elimination of microbial biofilm. The dental unit output water quality meets the ADA (American Dental Association) requirements ≤ 200 CFU/ml.
  • Planmeca Planosil cleaning agent is fed into the dental unit waterlines, left to act overnight and flushed away in the morning. The treatment water is thus free of chemical residues. This is a clear advantage compared to systems with continuous disinfectant supply.
  • The highly automated system is fast and easy to use.
  • As chemicals are used only once a week, the system is cost-effective.

The Planmeca Waterline Cleaning System has been scientifically proved effective in several independent international studies:

  • Effective control of dental chair unit biofilm and marked reduction of bacterial contamination of output water using peroxide-based disinfectants, C.M. Tuttlebee, M.J. O’Donnell, C.T. Keane, R.J. Russel, D.J. Sullivan, F. Falkner and D.C. Coleman, Journal of Hospital Infection (2002) 52: 192-205.
  • A novel automated waterline cleaning system that facilitates effective and consistent control of microbial biofilm contamination of dental chair unit waterlines, M.J. O’Donnell, A.C. Shore and D.C. Coleman, Journal of Dentistry (2006) 34: 648-661.
