In the 19th century Claudius Ash made a significant contribution to the development of dentistry by sponsoring and producing an ever increasing range of instruments and forceps, filling and impression materials, realistic porcelain teeth and the thousand and one things that an expanding but still highly individualistic profession required.

A lasting tribute to those pioneering days exists in the current range of Ash instruments and forceps.

Another lasting testimony to Claudius Ash's pioneering work lies in their expanding network of dental depots throughout the UK, Europe and Scandinavia and even across Russia, as well as the Middle and Far East. These depots became the foundation of dental product distribution that exists almost unchanged to this day.

The range of products that we currently supply is expanding all the time. Our stock is also augmented by the stock holdings of our sister Plandent companies throughout Scandinavia and Germany which together form the largest retail group in Western Europe.

By consolidating the buying operations of the entire Plandent division, we are able to negotiate with our major suppliers so that our prices become more and more competitive and attractive. Additionally, we are able to develop an expanding range of products that will be exclusive to Claudius Ash and the Plandent division under the 'Orbis' label These products will be comparable to but lower priced than their branded equivalents

Our parent company, Planmeca, is a world respected designer and manufacturer of dental equipment. The range encompasses panoramic and intra-oral X-ray machines, a range of dental units, chair and stools, operating lights, cabinets and a totally integrated 'All-in-One' digital imaging system.

Claudius Ash has been the exclusive distributer of Planmeca equipment since 1971 and, since becoming an integral part of the Planmeca/Plandent group, we have specialised exclusively in the Planmeca line. This specialisation brings many benefits to the user; depth of knowledge, dedicated and factory supported after sales care and, not least, competitive pricing that results from a direct ex-factory distribution service."

The Plandent Division Service Concept lies on two cornerstones: personal service through telesales and a contact centre, and visits by specialised representatives. It also develops new contact channels, like ordering via the internet.
